Bert Berlin candidate for Richmond School Board, Fourth District

Rena and I have been married for 41 years.
We have two granddaughters living in Richmond who will start attending Richmond Public Schools next year.

I serve or have served as

• Member of the Community Advisory Group at Westover Hills school,
• Member of board of directors of Friends of Fourth District Schools
• School coordinator  for the Micah Initiative at Carver Elementary School
  
• Tutor at Westover Hills Elementary School
• Facilitator in presenting the school board’s “New Direction” to the community

My Vision

• I see Richmond Public Schools providing a first-class education to all the children of our city regardless of ethnicity or economic situation.
• I see the parents of Richmond choosing their neighborhood school as the first choice for their child’s education.
• I see all the people of Richmond joining together to make sure our children are adequately prepared for the Twenty-First Century.
  

I'm fighting for

• Neighborhood schools in the fourth district that will work for all our children, using the 3 Ps.
• An International Baccalaureate primary years program in the fourth district.
• Accountability at RPS to eliminate wasteful and unlawful spending.
• Involvement of the entire Richmond community in providing a first-class education to all our children
